THE CONSIGNMENT PROCESS

Thank you for considering Marva’s to assist you in the liquidation process of your estate or to sell a few unwanted items.  There are 2 processes to getting started:

  • Moving – All consignment must be transported to us.
    • For your convenience, we will gather a moving or furniture pickup quote for you.
  • Consignment  – We sell your items; tell us what you want to sell.

Please note: Once you have filled out the consignment request form, an associate will contact you within 48 hours by phone or email.  We will provide a quote for moving services or furniture pickup if approved. This quote is good for 48 hours.  Please be ready to be scheduled and begin the consignment process.

 

STEP 1: Fill out the consignment form

Tell us what you want to liquidate or services we can assist you with. 

  • You may email us directly at marvas@marvasplace.com if you require an appointment to visit your estate.
  • Information that you MUST include with your request:
    • Information, paperwork, receipts, etc.(you do not need to send paperwork and receipts with your request now)
    • Pictures – Include high quality images. Do not email us without sending a picture of the “actual” furniture in your estate
    • Once we receive your submission, we will determine if your request meets our acceptance guidelines.
    • You will receive an approval with proposal within 48 hours. Please respond back to us quickly. Our schedules get filled quickly and we want to meet your deadline.
  • All furniture and furnishings must be High End Brands, high quality and in barely used or new condition.
  • All Fine Arts, Paintings, Sculptures, & Collectibles must be authenticated and original; must have documents.  We accept some authenticated prints with original documents.

STEP 2: The Moving Process – Items are transported to Marva’s.

Note: Moving is not easy.  What will take you all day (several hours) making arrangements coordinating your family and friends time, packing and going through the process of renting a truck and equipment to save a few dollars, it only takes Marva’s Professional movers a very short time. Save yourself the hassle and let the pros do it.

An invoice will be issued for Moving Services & Furniture pickup fees. 

  • Once you have paid the fees for the moving services and to start the consignment process, we will start the moving process:
  • An associate will contact you within 48 hours to arrange your pickup date and time.  There are many tasks that are being done behind the scenes to getting your move ready.
  • Please plan ahead: we are normally 2-3 weeks out for moving services but we may be able to fit you in if your needs are urgent. 

STEP 3: MOVING DAY!

Items are moved to our facility to be ready for the Consignment Process of selling.

  • During furniture pickup, a team member will provide the consignment contract for your approval and signature – you will get a copy for your records.
  • Please give the team leader during your move all required documents, receipts and information that you have available on anything you are consigning.

 

STEP 4: THE CONSIGNMENT PROCESS

All items are listed on our website for Local and US exposure.  Our delivery services and personal approach increases a faster sale.

  • There are many things that need to be done to start the process of consignment.  Some include taking pictures, research and writing; this is just to name a few.
  • Your items are stored and made ready for shipment once sold and orders are received.
  • Our team is available to buyers to answer questions via phone, through email and provide private showings as well.
  • Our team are professionals who is ready to negotiate aggressively on your behalf.
  • Consignment Terms are generally 90-120 days. Depending on the estate, the terms may be longer up to 2 years.
  • Consignor gets 50% of the sales proceeds minus any applicable fees.
  • Payments for sold items are issued 5 days after buyer accepts the purchased item.

DONATIONS: This is a service that we provide.  Any items that are not accepted or cannot be sold can be donated to a charity of your choosing or we can choose one for you.  We will let you know once we have reviewed your estate or consignment request.

 

Do we purchase outright? We may present an offer to clients to cash out after we have had the opportunity to  offer items on consignment.
